Three Senses On Avalon

"Wingless."

"The wind murmured, caressed [Nat's] face with coolness, blew him an odor of leaves and distances, a smoky whiff of Thuriak's body." (p. 414)

Three senses: odors on a cool, murmuring wind. And we have discussed smells of distance before. Indeed, the link shows that we have discussed this passage before. Maybe it is time to stop blogging for this evening, especially since there is other reading to return to. We approach the end of the Earth Book but might then find something to say about Flandry's Legacy.

Kaor, Paul!

For me, when it came to doing any Andersonian reading, it was "Outpost of Empire" which I recently reread. Plus doing some browsing in ALL ONE UNIVERSE and GOING FOR INFINITY. One of the stories I reread being "Strangers."

Can an intelligent race be so short lived that an ordinary human life span can seem as "immortal" as those of the elves? That is one of the things that interested me about "Strangers."

Ad astra! Sean
