Succinct Summaries Department

Always mentally re-cataloguing Poul Anderson's Technic History, I realized that the first three volumes of The Technic Civilization Saga collect:

the entire contents of three previous collections;

three previously published novels, in addition to the one that was in one of the collections;

three other stories.

Thus, threes all the way, especially since the first two previous collections each contained three stories although the third held twelve, including a novel. By concluding in the Terran Empire period, the third Saga volume sets the scene for Volumes IV-VII which collect the entire contents of the nine-volume Flandry period and the single post-Flandry collection.

A succinct summary of a series that is long to read, reread and analyze adequately.

Kaor, Paul!

And, between the two of us, we have been commenting on the Technic with what can only be called TALMUDIC intensity. Both in your blog pieces and the guest articles. And that intensity was used for our revising of my article about Sandra Miesel's Chronology.
