The Trouble Twisters, Satan's World and Mirkheim have encompassed David Falkayn's career from apprentice to acting CEO of Solar Spice & Liquors. The Earth Book Of Stormgate backtracks to two unique turning points, his saving of Merseia and his discovery of Mirkheim, then adds the final post-SSL stage, his founding of Avalon. Falkayn's contributions to Technic civilization surpass those of his mentor, Nicholas van Rijn, and rival those of their remote successor, Dominic Flandry: nothing that I have not said before but worth repeating. The Technic History incorporates yet transcends these three major characters, continuing its narrative for millennia after the Fall of the Terran Empire whose existence Flandry had prolonged.

Kaor, Paul!
Yes, but Hloch himself warned his readers not too take too parochial a view of their history on Avalon and to remember that elsewhere Nicholas van Rijn was far better known than David Falkayn.
And I would still argue for rating Dominic flandry as being hardly less consequential than Falkayn. His toils and struggles defending the aging Empire probably prolonged its lifespan by at least a century. To say nothing of hoe saved the two intelligent races of Starkad. And his efforts at Wayland brought the mineral wealth of that moon under Imperial control and, again, strengthened the Empire. And his role in bringing down the strangling despotism of Biocontrol on Unan Besar was another huge achievment.
Ad astra! Sean
