A Tetralogy Followed By Two Trilogies

OK. If we slightly rationalize the contents of the nine-volume Flandry Period and its single-volume sequel, then they comprise one tetralogy followed by two trilogies:

Tetralogy = the Young Flandry Trilogy + Outposts Of Empire (= "Outpost of Empire" + The Day Of Their Return);

1st Trilogy =  the 2 Flandry collections (contents rearranged) + A Knight Of Ghosts And Shadows;

2nd Trilogy = A Stone In Heaven + The Game Of Empire + The Night Face And Other Stories.

The Tetralogy
Ensign Flandry introduces Dominic Flandry and John Ridenour.

A Circus Of Hells stays with Flandry and mentions Aycharaych.

The Rebel Worlds: Flandry defeats the McCormac Rebellion.

"Outpost of Empire" returns to Ridenour.

The Day Of Their Return: Aycharaych exploits the aftermath of the McCormac Rebellion.

Kaor, Paul!

I might have written instead that THE DAY OF THEIR RETURN examines the aftermath or consequences of McCormac's Rebellion. And of how badly those consequences might have been, because of Aycharaych's scheming.

Ad astra! Sean
