Return To Action

Poul Anderson, Shield, XVI.

After two chapters of Andersonian discussion, Andersonian action returns. The Equals, having bugged Koskinen's and Trembicki's skeptical conversation, enter with guns but Koskinen escapes by using the shield which thus returns to center stage. However, I do not find it easy to resume action mode after so much political theory so I will return to Shield tomorrow.

I began to post about the book on 31 January and there are still six chapters, in 38 pages, to be reread. After that, some comparisons might be made between this and other fictional futures.

Kaor, Paul!

Having had occasion to mention Alexis de Tocqueville's THE OLD REGIME AND THE FRENCH REVOLUTION, I decided yesterday to start rereading it. If not now, then WHEN? And I've already seen a bit from Tocqueville's Foreword which might be quoting here.

I think I will also soon start rereading Anderson's SHIELD. I've only read it once or twice, after all.
