The Psychotechnic League And Dominic Flandry

An inquirer has asked me by email whether Dominic Flandry comes after the Psychotechnic League. I have had to explain that:

the Psychotechnic History has a Psychotechnic Institute but not a Psychotechnic League, despite the misleading use of that latter phrase as a title;

the Technic History has a Polesotechnic League followed by a Terran Empire;

Flandry defends that Empire.

It gets worse. "The Chapter Ends," in the Psychotechnic History, and "The Star Plunderer," in the Technic History, both refer to a First Empire and a Sol City. Thus, a reader of "The Chapter Ends" could be forgiven for thinking that the First Empire referred to in that story is the same as the First Empire in "The Star Plunderer" which is the one defended by Flandry.

Sometimes an author's early stories have not quite sorted out which of his future history series they are in. This observation also applies to the works of James Blish and Larry Niven.

Kaor, Paul!

And this gentleman you corresponded with might find my proposed revisal of Sandra Miesel's Chrnology of Technic Civilization of some interest and value in finding out which stories belongs in that series.

Naturally, Paul! I did wonder if this other person might find a proposed Chronology of Technic Civilization of some interest as well.
