The Terran Empire And The Time Patrol

Dominic Flandry traverses interstellar space with a quantum hyperdrive and it is his job to hold the Terran Empire together. The Time Patrol deals directly with the quantum nature of reality and it is its job to a hold a space-time continuum together. The Empire is threatened by external enemies and internal decay. The Patrol's continuum is threatened by time criminals and quantum chaos.

The Empire will fall. The Patrol's continuum is:

"'...forever liable to chaos...'"
-Poul Anderson, The Shield Of Time (New York, 1991), p. 435

- and could become senseless and self-destructive through random changes.

Or maybe a quantum fluctuation in space-time-energy could transform the Patrol continuum into the Terran Empire timeline as we have previously speculated with other fictional timelines?

Kaor, Paul!

I'm simply glad Anderson did not try to link together the Technic history with the Time Patrol series. That could so easily have led to making a hopeless jumble of both!

I also expressed doubt a few times at how long the Danellians themselves could last before they too fall.

Ad astra! Sean
