More From Valti II

The Long Way Home, CHAPTER THIRTEEN.

Valti:

Cosmic unity is more important than any one planet or race.

My comments:

The cosmos is a unity and each planet and race is a part of that unity. I am not sure what is meant by saying that the unity is more important than any of its parts. They are interdependent.

Valti:

"'...if you had traveled across light-years all your days, you'd know that there is something operating which can't be reduced to physical theory.'" (p. 125)

Physical theory is an abstraction from concrete reality. Physicists quantify electromagnetic wavelengths but cannot otherwise account for the qualitative differences between perceived colours. We do not need to traverse light-years to recognize the irreducibility of qualities. Or maybe Valti refers to something else that he does not make explicit?

Kaor, Paul!

What struck me was thinking Valti was not so absolutely sure he was right to disbelieve in Father. That is a simpler interpretation!
