A Circus of Hells, CHAPTER TWELVE.
When Morioch tells Ydwyr:
"'Let the datholch know this is Junior Lieutenant Dominic Flandry." (p. 278)
- the wind responds:
"Silence fell, except for the wind whose rising skirl began to pierce the heavily insulated walls." (ibid.)
Ydwyr's gaze probes. He has heard of Flandry. As Morioch continues his account:
"...Flandry thought through the loudening wind..." (ibid.)
The wind loudens as the threat increases. Anderson's sound effects are as pervasive as those of a film. Any screen adaptation would have to include a lot of wind.

Kaor, Paul!
I would love it if some of the Nicholas van Rijn and Dominic Flandry stories were filmed. Alas, film makers seem to be interested only in endless stale rehashes of the STAR TREK/STAR WARS franchises. Which is disheartening!
See as well my TEXTUAL CRAWL FOR FLANDRY MOVIES.
Ad astra! Sean
