The Arzunians take remote control of the Ganymede and crash it onto their planet. The Terrans, Ansan and Donarrian who survive the crash must now survive on a habitable but otherwise inhospitable planetary surface. Willing suspension of disbelief is strained past its breaking point. We welcome the suggestion that this story is a fiction within the fiction although its historical background information might be accurate. It seems appropriate when the introduction informs us that the story has been popular in distorted subetheric text and vidplay versions - like what we are reading.

Kaor, Paul!
I think Anderson hesitated for a long time on whether to include "Sargasso" as part of his Technic series. But it has too much in common with the undoubted Technic stories to totally dismiss it. But, thinking of it as a "fiction within the fiction" resolves such difficulties.
Ad astra! Sean
