three begin with David Falkayn but also feature Nicholas van Rijn;
one features Falkayn and the trader team but, surprisingly, does not even mention van Rijn;
two are about van Rijn;
one is about other one-off characters, one of whom refers to van Rijn.
Falkayn's first interview with van Rijn is in the second collected work, "The Trouble Twisters," and his climactic confrontation with van Rijn concludes the seventh work, "Lodestar." Thus, the van Rijn-Falkayn story is almost complete in this single volume.
However, in Mirkheim, the first work to be collected in Volume III, Rise Of The Terran Empire:
van Rijn entertains David and Coya Falkayn when Coya joins the trader team;
van Rijn reassembles the original team for a different kind of mission many years later;
at the end, Falkayn will run van Rijn's company while the latter tries to hold the Polesotechnic League together.
And that completes the van Rijn-Falkayn story.

Kaor, Paul!
One thing I remember about "A Little Knowledge" is that one the renegades mentioned seeing a kind of TV interview of Old Nick in which van Rijn said he would hang such renegades, not shoot them. Because you can REUSE a rope.
Ad astra! Sean
