Future Historical Simultaneity II

The previous post referred, however briefly, to the contents of sixteen of the first eighteen of the forty three installments of Poul Anderson's Technic History. Thus:

interplanetary exploration, "The Saturn Game";
interstellar exploration, "Wings of Victory";
exploration of Avalon, "The Problem of Pain";
Adzel on Earth, "How To Be Ethnic In One Easy Lesson";
van Rijn back in space, "Margin of Profit";
Falkayn on Ivanhoe, "The Three-Cornered Wheel";
Hernandez on Ivanhoe, "The Season of Forgiveness";
van Rijn on Diomedes, The Man Who Counts;
Falkayn a factor for SSL, "A Sun Invisible";
the trader team on Ikrananka, "The Trouble Twisters";
van Rijn on t'Kela, "Territory";
the trader team on Merseia, "Day of Burning";
van Rijn and Cain, "The Master Key";
threat from Dathyna, Satan's World;
other problems in the League, "A Little Knowledge";
Coya Conyon, "Lodestar."

The first eighteen installments are collected in Baen Books' The Technic Civilization Saga, Volume I, The Van Rijn Method, and Volume II, David Falkayn: Star Trader. Volume II culminates in "Lodestar," after which nothing will ever be the same again. It is the second last time that we see van Rijn and the team.

Kaor, Paul!

That listing of "The Season of Forgiveness" reminded me of how it's my custom to reread Anderson's Christmas story about this time of year. And that in turn reminded me of A. Conan Doyle's Christmas story, "The Blue Carbuncle," because of how Anderson took "the season of forgiveness" from that Holmes story.

Ad astra! Sean
