(Apparently, Netanyahu compared Cyrus to Trump so here are images of both.)
"Brave To Be A King," 3.
I post to you in a pause between meeting at the Wolfhouse and eating at the Strawberry Gardens.
Historical fiction, including historical science fiction like Poul Anderson's Time Patrol series, stimulates interest in history. On pp. 66-67, Anderson summarizes the history of Cyrus. I will return to this later this evening or tomorrow when I have more time.

Kaor, Paul!
While exaggerated, I can see why PM Nethanyahu could compare Pres. Trump to Cyrus the Great! The Trump's Administration's brokering of Israel and the United Arab Emirates making peace with each other and opening direct diplomatic relations is a huge step in the right direction in the Mid East. To say nothing of how it was Trump who finally moved the US Embassy to Israel's capital, Jerusalem. So I can see why some enthusiastic Jews would compare the President to Cyrus, the liberator of the Jews.
And I recall Manse commenting in "Brave to be a King" on how crucial it was that Cyrus the Great released the Jews from their exile in Babylon.
Ad astra! Sean
Sean,
I have found time to read the coverage of Netanyahu's speech and you are essentially correct.
Paul.
Sean,
Apparently, Evangelicals can regard Trump as God's vessel to help the Jews without them having to approve of him morally. Thus, to them also, he is like Cyrus.
Paul.
Kaor, Paul!
And that is not my attitude! Pres. Trump simply happens to be the standard bearer of the conservative/libertarian movement in the US against the drive of the left to increase and concentrate ever more power in the state.
Btw, the historical Cyrus the Great really does seem to have been an unusually decent and able man!
Ad astra! Sean
