One of the pleasures of life is things to look forward to. Thus, for your blogger, on getting up in the morning:
meditation;
breakfast;
checking the blog combox;
maybe adding a post, like this one.
In the evening:
finishing the last post for the day early enough to get back to some enjoyable non-blog-related reading;
finding unexpected connections, e.g., CS Lewis' That Hideous Strength refers both to Romano-Britons and to Cyrus, although not in the same paragraph, thus connecting with Poul Anderson's first two Time Patrol stories.
Over the next few days:
going places and doing things with family and friends over the weekend (there are so many good images of the Canal Turn that I will have to spread them over several posts);
more of the same during the week since we are retired.

Kaor, Paul!
And I'm glad you are enjoying so civilized a retirement!
Ad astra! Sean
