A Great Drama

Genesis, PART TWO, VI.

Gaia's stated reasons why the nodes of the galactic brain should not prevent the extinction of Terrestrial life:

scientific knowledge not otherwise obtainable;

the equivalent of a great drama or symphony that will "...deepen and enlighten the galactic brain." (p. 156)

She has another reason but what do we think of her stated reasons?

This is communication between nodes that remain discrete individuals but will the brain as a unit think about such matters and take action?

Is it still too early for that to happen?

Kaor, Paul!

I don't think it's too small a matter to point out that, no matter patient AI nodes, communications between them, at STL, over interstellar and galactic distances takes TIME. Time will be needed for the information about Earth to reach all or enough of the nodes, time for that data to be considered and a decision reach, and still more time for messengers to get to Earth with that decision. Millennia might well be needed. So I wonder about the practicality of the other AIs/nodes being able to act on Earth. After, the situation would constantly be changing on Earth during those centuries.

Which is probably exactly what Gaia wanted!
