Operation Luna.
The speaking sword, recounting the battle of Tenchebrai:
"'There we stood, a thin red line - No, I'm mixing my epochs, damme.'" (22, p. 205)
- and the battle of Hafrsfjord:
"'There we stood, a thin mail-clad line -'" (p. 206)
- and the battle of Stamford Bridge:
"'There we stood, a thin Anglo-Danish line -'" (ibid.)
- and the battle of Brunanburh:
"'...there we were at Brunanburh, a thin hairy line -'" (28, p. 257)
OK. This has become another one of those so, if I find any more, then I will add them here.
