A Midsummer Tempest, xxii.
Rupert to Jennifer:
"'Thou'rt far too good for me. But so's the sun.
"'God gives with spendthrift hand. His will be done.'" (p. 203)
Experience is given to us, whether given by God or just given: data. Much that is given is good. See A Prayer. Indeed, life that was always bad would not continue. But much is also bad. Currently, the world is in multiple crises. A literal interpretation of "God gives..." generates the insuperable Problem of Evil.

Kaor, Paul!
And I have less than zero confidence that many of the alleged solutions for our problems will do any good. "Green" energy, for example, is hopeless and criminally unworkable if no PRACTICAL replacements are offered for coal and oil.
Ad astra! Sean
