Poul Anderson, The Byworlder, VIII.
The flagship, Ormen den Lange, like a floating conurb, has:
ample quarters for four thousand;
command posts;
offices;
comfortable, well decorated cabins;
schools;
a hospital;
cultural and recreational facilities;
sports;
games;
restaurants;
taverns;
a theater;
many small private enterprises;
electronic links to the rest of the world.
The half dozen other ships do the work. See here.

Kaor, Paul!
There is one thing lacking in the list of the facilities and amenities held by the "Ormen den Lange": chapels! I would have expected some Christian and Jewish chapels and clergy for thse Vikings.
And these people were not like the Vikings of a thousand years ago: attacking, invading, plundering, and ravaging their neighbors!
