Roma Mater.
Now military history, economics and Imperial history intersect. We saw that Gothic cavalry rode down the Romans and that, in the Andersons' account, the curial class was declining. Gratillonius' father, Marcus, plans to breed horses to sell to the army and to the rich. He does not know that the Empire will withdraw from its northern provinces. However, men will continue to travel and to fight on horseback during the coming Dark and Middle Ages. The next generation should include the originals of the Knights of the Round Table.

Kaor, Paul!
At least Gratillonius' father was spared having to live to see that withdrawal of the Empire from Britannia sometime after AD 400.
Ad astra! Sean
