Two Narratives II

OK. I have thought of another possibility. Vasquez investigates the outcome of the disappearance, then travels (it only need be very briefly) into the further past, then travels forward to 1885. When the disappearance is deleted, the Vasquez who investigated its outcome is deleted with it. However, the Vasquez who arrives in 1885 is not deleted because he had arrived from the much further past. This would work according to the rules of time travel laid down in the Time Patrol series.(I got out of bed to make this point and will now return to usual morning activities: meditation, then breakfast.)

Maybe I'm getting mixed up in my efforts to replaced disappeared comments.
