Some Andersonian wars are fought not in space but through time. See Three Wars Through Time.
And, like a prescient Hegelian synthesis, a space battle had been combined with time travel in Anderson's earlier "Flight to Forever." See Time Wars and Space-Time Battle.
As several times before, there is a sense of completeness, of an author who explores every possible answer to several major questions. Can time travellers change the past? Yes, in Time Patrol. No, in There Will Be Time. Etc.

Kaor, Paul!
I am a fan of some military SF, esp. if written as well as we see them in Stirling's collaborations with Dave Drake and Jerry Pournelle. Or Stirling's single authored Draka books. And, of course, Anderson's contributions.
Ad astra! Sean
As Max Weber put it, "violence is always the ultimately decisive means of political action".
Kaor, Mr. Stirling!
That's such an obvious truism that it still astonishes me that we have people who deny that.
