This collection has no stated theme, no Introduction or Foreword and no brief commentary on any of the included items. They are simply five novellas. The second, "Brake," and the third, "The Sensitive Man," are instalments of Anderson's Psychotechnic History while the fifth, "Starfog," is the concluding instalment of his Technic History and the fourth, "The Moonrakers," is a sequel to Poul and Karen Anderson's "The Innocent Arrival."

Still trying to make sense of these collection titles:
Dialogue With Darkness
The Dark Between The Stars
Kinship With The Stars
Time And Stars
Homeward And Beyond
Beyond The Beyond
We need a Collected Works where all the numerous series are gathered together and where all the independent stories appear only once and in order of original publication.
And this really is good night, folks. It is nearly tomorrow. (Annual Lancaster Music Festival this weekend. In fact, there was a singer with a guitar in a pub this evening.)

Kaor, Paul!
I have a copy of BEYOND THE BEYOND as well. In fact, it's one of the earliest hard cover Anderson books I purchased, in either 1971 or 1972.
Truthfully, aside from "Memory" and "Starfog," most of the stories in it doesn't really grab me. Partly because of the dissatisfaction I have for most of the Psychotechnic series.
Ad astra! Sean
