Generations III

"A Fair Exchange."

This story presents:

a dialogue about economics (let's avoid that at least for now);

more physical descriptions of Rustum, both High America and the lowlands;

more information about generations on Rustum -

Dan and Eva Coffin have had four children and have adopted one exogene. One of their sons, named Joshua after his paternal grandfather, is attracted to a daughter of friends of his parents. So maybe Dan's and Eva's grandchildren are not far off? After this, there will be one more story set on Rustum and another story set on the planet Roland in the same timeline. After that, history stretches ahead of the characters and their descendants although we will no longer be able to read it.

Kaor, Paul!

I found the discussion of economics in "A Fair Exchange" interesting, esp. the arguments for basing a sound currency on gold.

My recollection, possibly wrong, is that Dan and Eva had six or seven children, and that at least one died young as a child.
