Tahirian Seaside

Starfarers, 30.

A subtropical island with surf, forest and mountains like Hawaii;

visitors restricted to protect the environment;

vine-covered accommodations scattered among trees and shrubs by the sea;

self-catering;

no shops, restaurants or entertainment;

a ramada for optional gatherings;

rent-free boathouse, jetty, watercraft and diving gear;

other holiday-makers disturbed by the presence of a single human being;

Ruszek wants to describe Tahir as a "planetary paradise" but can find a symbol only for "preserve." (p. 283)

Kaor, Paul!

I've been to Hawaii and I have noticed the mountains there. What struck me was that they looked as tho they should have been taller than they are. Well, Maui does have a giant mountain. Which satisfied me!

Ad astra! Sean
