The Devil's Game, p. 62.
I have heard "ad lib" which, I learn, abbreviates "ad libitum."
The ad libitum breakfast:
toast with ham, eggs or fried fish;
ice-packed juices;
fruits;
cheeses;
sausages;
sweets;
pastries.
That is for Haverner's guests whereas his breakfast is Continental, in bed.

Kaor, Paul!
Being old and frail, I can see why Haverner would prefer to breakfast in bed, if he could.
And having become so weight conscious, I'm inclined to prefer fairly light meals.
Ad astra! Sean
