We Only Live In It

Commonalty Ranger Daven Laure says:

"'...we didn't make this universe. We only live in it.'" (p. 771) (For full reference, see here.)

For Dominic Flandry, see here.
For Manse Everard, see here.

Some reflections on life are common to human beings in any historical period or fictional universe.

Kaor, Paul!

It seems rather odd for Daven Laure to say things like "...we didn't make this universe. We only live in it." After all, he lived in a hopeful, optimistic, expansive era, during the early Commonalty. I would have expected something more upbeat!

Which only goes to show I need to hurry up on my rereading of the four post-Imperial stories written by Anderson.
