The information in Life On Nike was extracted from an introductory passage on pp. 484-485 (for full reference, see here) but, of course, more information emerges as the story proceeds. On p. 510:

"Abri" is one detail I missed. Drat! And also an example of the rich and extensive vocabulary used by Poul Anderson.
