More Life On Nike

The information in Life On Nike was extracted from an introductory passage on pp. 484-485 (for full reference, see here) but, of course, more information emerges as the story proceeds. On p. 510:

"...primitive but tree-sized 'ferns'";
blue-green fronds;
giant pseudo-insects.

Tom hears rilling water, smells damp growth and hides in an abri.

Any further data on Nikean life will be noted in addenda to this post.

Kaor, Paul!

"Abri" is one detail I missed. Drat! And also an example of the rich and extensive vocabulary used by Poul Anderson.
