Clouds, Wind And Sand

Arinnian travels by aircar to Oronesia to confer with Tabitha Falkayn. Where he comes from, it means a lot that she is a descendant of David Falkayn. As they meet, the text addresses three senses.

Sight
Sunlight is brilliant on cumulus clouds beneath blue sky. The sea is indigo with green breakers exploding on white sand. The upper hills are covered by pale emerald susin. On lower ground, there is red Ythrian clustergrain. Human beings have imported coconut palms and mango, orange and pumpernickel plants.

Scent
Warm wind smells of salt, iodine and fragrances.

Sound
Wind soughs and sand scrunches.

This Avalonian environment is threatened by the possibility of nuclear war with the Terran Empire.

Kaor, Paul!

And considering how terrestroid Avalon is, to say nothing of being made even more so by the human co-colonists, means there would be little pressure placed on the humans to genetically adapt. Because of there being no need to do so!
