And:
"A cargo was in from Ophir..." (p. 327)

Dang! I think I erred. Poul Anderson took the title for his story "Ivory and Apes and Peacocks" from 1 Kings 10.22. I should have remembered how familiar Anderson was with the Bible. But, he might have had Masefield's poem in mind as well.
Incidentally, this is how the Douai Reims Challoner renders the text in 3 Kings 10.22: "...elephants teeth, and apes, and peacocks."
