Immediate Future Blogging

(i) I might start switching off the lap top earlier in the evening.

(ii) I will definitely be in London and away from computers from the afternoon of Thursday, 6 July, until very late on Sunday, 9 July.

(iii) I have been diverted into reading a very helpful book about Buddhist practice which has generated one post but is unlikely to generate any more.

(iv) Blogging will, of course, continue longer term.

Addendum: The blog has covered politics, among many other important issues, so let me add what I learnt today, that my friend of Italian descent had a Fascist father, a Royalist mother, a Communist uncle, Communist cousins and other cousins in the Mafia and has recently joined the British Labour Party.

Kaor, Paul!

If your old school Fascist friend had continued the family history of political eccentricity, then he would have joined the Conservative Party. That would have cancelled out the Communist and mafia connections! (Smiles)

The most recent issue of the American conservative magazine NATIONAL REVIEW has what seems a very interesting article about Labour's current leader, Jeremy Corbyn, which I will read with interest.

Sean,
But Andrea also says that he is a Thatcherite! (I listen to his politics but don't always reply.)

Ha! That IS very odd for a Labourite to say! Margaret Thatcher's goal and ambition was to ROLL BACK the kind of gov't most Labourites say they want.

Sean,
Indeed. Andrea admires the committed visionaries of left or right and dislikes the noncommital intermediates.

That clarifies Andrea's POV! Rather like how the Book of the Apocalypse has Christ saying He prefers people to be either hot or cold, not lukewarm.

Needless to say, if I was British, I would be a Thatcherite Tory! (Smiles)

And VERY impatient and frustrated with the kind of LUKEWARM Tory "wets" who managed to bungle what should have been a thumping victory in the recent General Election into the mess the UK now has.
