This Evening

Back from the Gregson Centre. (See previous post.) I took both the philosophical text and A Stone In Heaven for emergency reading in case I had to wait for others to arrive but in fact Kevin had arrived first and shortly afterwards Les. Our conversation ranged across world affairs and therefore was not sf-related although that was what had first brought Kev and me together years ago. Years ago, there was a MAD fan group whose full name, to be spoken only once a year, was the Manchester and District Science Fiction Philosophical, Literary and Artistic Debating Society and Drinking Association. (But I might have got that wrong.) There will be a hot drink and more reading before turning in but it might be James Bond rather than Dominic Flandry or philosophy. All our reading occurs in the context of other reading and of other activities so I think it makes sense to reflect on that sometimes, don't you?
