Because he has seen wars among many intelligent species, David Falkayn, while on Earth, visits certain significant sites:
Perhaps Jericho is relevant because of the Biblical account of the Battle of Jericho which, according to the Wikipedia article, is not generally accepted by scholars.
Thermopylae is known for its Battle.
Hiroshima is known...
Vladivostok was heavily involved in the Russian Civil War.
A future history series and Earth Real share a common past history.

Vladivostok was also central to the Russo-Japanese war in 1905, IIRC.
Kaor, Paul!
I might have suggested to Falkayn a few battles which had overwhelming consequences.
The Battle of Tours in AD 732.
The Battle of Hastings in 1066.
The Siege of Vienna in 1683.
Pessimistic this will upload.
Ad astra! Sean
Lepanto.
Trafalgar.
Waterloo.
"The Battle of Tours in AD 732."
Though if any of the Muslim attempts to take Constantinople in the 7th and 8th centuries had succeeded the Muslim loss at Tours would not have mattered.
