Fiction And Reality

Fiction both reflects and differs from reality. Over breakfast this morning, I have read newspaper analyses of problems in the US, China, Ukraine, Scotland, Ireland and the environment and a blog comment on the strong feudal elements remaining in the dominant culture of Merseia. See here.

Two responses:

Poul Anderson's fiction is trivial when contrasted with real world problems;

without imagination, including myth and fiction, we would not be human and thus would not have those real world problems.

Now I must get moving and deal with some trivial everyday problems. Hunt well.
