Venus In Two Other Andersonian Futures

In some fictional futures, Venus is inhabited or colonized although we see no action on its surface. However, that planet interacts with others. Thus, in the Time Patrol timeline, a raid from Venus killed Rozher Schtein's family in the thirtieth century and Manson Everard's fellow Unattached Patrol agents include Piet van Sarawak from Venus in the twenty-fourth century. We are not told that Venus had had to be terraformed but see SM Stirling's sequel, "A Slip in Time."

In Anderson's Technic History, Aaron Snelund, who became Governor of Sector Alpha Crucis, grew up in Sub-Lucifer on an incompletely terraformed Venus. (We are told somewhere that the terraforming was incomplete.)

And I think that that's it for other Andersonian versions of Venus unless, of course, you know better.

Addendum the following morning

Venus in the Time Patrol timeline has:

Hesperus City
canals
blue twilight
Aphrodite vintages

In the Time Patrol series, it's nowhere stated that Venus was habitable -- Piet just comes from Venus and mentions its canals.

Kaor, Paul!

An expanded version of THE REBEL WORLDS should show us both that not quite satisfactorily terraformed Venus and how the harsh conditions found in sub-Lucifer affected Aaron Snelund and his rise to infamy.

Ad astra! Sean
