Similar, you must agree. Will we meet any aliens who think like that? Will any human beings colonize the Jovian moons and think like that? We have to get out there and find out, don't we? I would rather see a dictatorship in the Jovian system than no one in the Jovian system. But the next step with a dictatorship has to be to overthrow it.

Both: An alternative would be a dictatorship which evolved or was changed into a milder, legitimate gov't. After all, Stirling cited the example of Francisco Franco of Spain spending decades arranging for the restoration of the monarchy.
