(iii) Back on Avalon, she instigated a code-breaking project supported by the armed forces preparing for war against the Empire.
(iv) The records included the log for the voyage of the Ythrian ship, Gaiian (Dewfall), that had carried van Rijn to Mirkheim, plus taped conversations, data lists etc.
(v) These clarified cryptic references in letters from Coya Conyon/Falkayn to David Falkayn.
(vi) Either Rennhi or her son, Hloch, contacted Stirrok, Wyvan of Wryfields Choth on Avalon.
(vii) Stirrok contacted Captain Hirharouk's descendants who allowed his personal journal to be read.
(viii) Hloch and Arinnian wrote "Lodestar" for The Earth Book Of Stormgate.
(ix) Hloch explains all this in two of his Earth Book introductions.

And Hloch also mentioned the archives and records to be found on Terra itself, but decided the sheer quantity of the data to be found there made it impractical, for the purposes of the book he was assembling, to go there himself.
And that reminded me of Flandry's frustrated reflections, centuries later, that the "...thumb-witted guardians of a fat and fun seeking Terra" SHOULD search thru the archives and reports, and investigate a million mysteries, to seek out dangers to the Empire.
