This morning, very soon, we will drive around Morecambe Bay (see here), where Eirik Blood-Ax landed (see here). This evening, I will attend the Zen group in Lancaster Friends' Meeting House (see here) and will thus address "spooks."
There will hopefully be time for reading and blogging between returning from Cumbria and attending Zen and after Zen.

Kaor, Paul!
I'm a little puzzled by how you seem to use the word "spooks." I think of spooks or ghosts as being the disembodied souls or spirits of deceased men or women.

Sean,
Yes, but I am using the word in an extended sense, as with "demons." The source of our fears is within. Fears are projected as if they were external entities, sometimes even generating apparitions.

Kaor, Paul!
Understood, I think. But, it seems a rather strained extension of the word "spook." I can't remember anything I feared ever "generating apparitions."
Sean
Sean,
And it doesn't work that way with me either but I think we would agree in telling someone who feared ghosts that the "ghosts" (the deceased and our memories of them) walk in our heads, not in the external world.

Kaor, Paul!
Yes, I can see that as being the case with Jake sunna Jake and the other Southsiders. And how other peoples had or have similar ideas about "spooks."
