Ranger Daven Laure travels in Jaccavrie from Commonalty Sector HQ to the fascinating planet, Serieve, which I have described before:
Laure and two Kirkasanters walk from Pelogard along a hill trail between gnarly trees and salt odours. They pause on a rustic bridge above a foaming, clangourous river where a swimming creature leaps, its scales gleaming in the fading light. Only a few stars are visible at night.

And one thing I remember about that walk Daven had with the Kirkasanters was how poor their night vision was compared to that of the New Vixenite. As darkness fell, the Kirkasanters needed to light their way while Laure did not. A telling indication about Kirkasant!
