To be initiated as a Spear Mark, Marian Alston must use a traditional spear, not a bow, to kill a deer which is then cooked. Already cooked are:
other deer
boar
rabbit
duck
geese -
- killed by the best hunters, using bows. Only forest foods must be consumed in the feast so there is neither bread nor beer but there are:
fruit
nuts
roots
honeymead seasoned with meadowsweet and powdered hemp seeds.

And one thing I would like to try sometime is drinking mead. I know it is sometimes described as too sickly sweet, but other kinds of mead are more "restrained."
