The Corridors Of Time, CHAPTER FOURTEEN.
Hu the Warden takes Lockridge and Auri through a succession of time corridors to his home era. When Lockridge wonders why Storm had not returned home by this same route, Hu replies that, having encountered Rangers in a corridor when she was with Lockridge:
"'...she estimated too big a probability of doing so again. Only now, when we have Brann, is this a reasonably safe course to follow.'" (p. 124)
What does "now" mean? They have just come from Neolithic Denmark where the Wardens have taken Brann prisoner but Brann before his capture still exists at different times in the future as do other time travelling Rangers who could still apprehend Hu and his companions.
This time travel logic needs more work.

I think stories set in alternate worlds/universes makes more sense than time traveling. Examples by Anderson being THREE HEARTS AND THREE LIONS and the two OPERATION books. Or Stirling's THE PESHAWAR LANCERS.
