Poul Anderson's Maurai And Kith collection could be split into a Maurai and a Kith. Then, Kith and Starfarers would present not a two-volume future history but two versions of one Kith future history!
The three collected Maurai stories are set generations apart and thus form a miniature future history. The long novel, Orion Shall Rise, is set not only in a later period but also apparently in a slightly different version of the history although a casual reader might not notice any differences.
There Will Be Time is a time travel novel in which the Maurai Federation is one of the future periods visited. Thus, this novel completes a trilogy that perfectly synthesizes future history with time travel.
