Two More Misprints

"The Big Rain."

"'...it'd be easier, and right in line with the Board's way of thing, to use artificial insemination.'" (VI, p. 249)

Way of thing?

"'...it'd be easier, and right in line with the Board's way of thinking, to use artificial insemination.'"
-Poul Anderson, "The Big Rain" IN Anderson, The Complete Psychotechnic League, Volume 1 (Riverdale, NY, October 2017), pp. 161-225 AT VI, p. 200.

In the following passage, Hollister continues to speak although the punctuation is wrong. He says that the U.N. Inspectorate has tried to ensure:

"'...that it's own power won't some day be abused.'"
"'The government of Venus just isn't that sort.'" (VI, p. 250)

That should read:

"'...that it's own power won't some day be abused.
"'The government of Venus just isn't that sort.'"
-The Complete Psychotechnic League, VI, p. 201.

Careful textual analysis clarifies meanings.

Kaor, Paul!

Any editors of a COMPLETE COLLECTED WORKS OF POUL ANDERSON should be esp. zealous in watching out for and correcting such misprints.

Ad astra! Sean
