Stellar Populations

By the end of Poul Anderson's Harvest Of Stars Tetralogy, there are:

Terrans on Earth, the Moon and Mars;

Lunarians on Mars and Proserpina and at Alpha Centauri;

Terrans in three other planetary systems -

- and it has taken many centuries for all of this to happen.

However, the extra-solar Terrans with their downloads and Life Mother technology will terraform many lifeless planets and spread through the universe while the post-organic intelligences at Sol plan to survive the end of the universe.

We want to read more than four volumes.

Amen about more books. Too bad Poul couldn't download himself and write forever!

Kaor, Mr. Stirling!

But I believe Poul Anderson is still capable of writing stories if he wishes to, if not in Heaven, then in Purgatory!

And a certain disciple of Anderson, a creative writer himself, has also written a multitude of mostly VERY readable stories: YOU! (Smiles)

I believe all writers, no matter how good they may be most times, occasionally write a weak story. But that has been rare for both you and PA.

Maybe Heaven would be direct experience of reality in which artistic expression of experience would be redundant?

Kaor, Paul!

I agree that is very likely one facet or aspect of Heaven. I also thought of this bit from Chapter XXX of OPERATION CHAOS, After Nikolai Ivanovich Lobachevsky came to temporarily share Steven Matuchek's mind/brain: "Of course, I couldn't share his afterlife, nor the holiness thereof. My mortal brain and grimy soul didn't reach to it. At most, there sang at the edge of perception a peace and joy which were not static but a high eternal adventure."
