Ferromagnetism

Operation Luna, 13.

In Crosstemporal Commentary, I asked whether Poul Anderson invented a new rule when he stated that magnetism cancels magic. However:

"- the Iron Age, ferrous materials spreading across the planet, ferromagnetism canceling rheatic forces that natural magnetism had always kept unstable at best.... The withering of paranature, of its whole ecology -" (p. 127)

It is a pre-Anderson given that cold iron neutralizes Faeries so it makes sense when we are told that ferromagnetism counteracts magic. The deeper we dig into Anderson's texts, the more there is to be found in them.

Kaor, Paul!

And I have been wondering what might have happened in our timeline if Einstein and Planck had worked together! But I still don't think we would have gpttem the goetics-as-science technology seen in the OPERATION books.
