The attached cover of The Day Of Their Return shows the Ythrian, Erannath of Stormgate Choth on Avalon, albeit not athwart the Milky Way. But I think that only the Rise Of The Terran Empire cover presents any adequate image of Ythrians. See here. And I think any effort to show us a bit of the ambiance of the planet Aeneas show something about the "Ancients" so often referred to in that book. The cover illustration for the original Doubleday edition of THE DAY OF THEIR RETURN shows a small human figure near some ancient, strange looking ruins.
