Taking a break from writing about religion (see Current Agenda), I remember an example of time travel-religion interaction that should have been included in Saving The Historical Appearances. See:
And the head of Old Father was a RELIC to those Pithecanthropines. Perhaps because Old Father was the one who thought of building a protective barrier of thorn shrubs and crude, un-firehardened spears. I think Uncle Antonio in "The Little Monster" suggested Old Father's skull was a revered relic.

Re "The Little Monster":
What or who was Old Father to the Pithecanthropines? A god, prophet, or saint?
If "Stranger" was Old Father, then Jerry Parker was like a "Savior" to these pithecanthropines Because he saved them from the attacking lione.
Jerry was also the Promethean bringer of fire to these Piths.
I see both Jewish and Christian analogs here.

Sean,
They preserved his head on a pole so he began as a man.
I have added another link.
Paul.

Kaor, Sean!
That’s a thought, although I had presumed that Old Father was just the now deceased patriarch of the band.
Best Regards,

Kaor, Nicholas!
And I agree! That skull was the reverently preserved relic of the deceased patriarch of the Pithecanthropine band.
