Two days after beginning to read SM Stirling's Against The Tide Of Years, we - or at least I - have reached p. 48. There are three reasons for this slow rate of progress:
other activities during the day;
simultaneously rereading Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy;
mining the text for details and issues to post about.
Posts should be a good mix between appreciating Stirling's contributions and addressing issues that are common to the works of Poul Anderson who remains the principal inspiration of the blog. Since Against The Tide Of Years has 454 pages, it looks like we are destined to be here for quite a while but I am not going anywhere except on day trips and short holidays where there is sometimes computer access.

Kaor, Paul!
Given MY dilatory ways, I don't mind if you are a bit slow! That gives me time to both finish AGAINST THE TIME OF YEARS and to start reading Anderson's THREE HEARTS AND THREE LIONS. Or, I might soon start on Stirling's new book PRINCE OF OUTCASTS.
