Satan's World: A Triple Aftermath

Dathyna
The Shenna are prevented from waging war and their industry is incorporated into the interstellar economy. Psychologically, they take orders from someone demonstrably stronger than them. Thea Beldaniel, a Shenn-raised human being, liaises with Fleet Admiral Wiaho of the Polesotechnic League from Ferra. We are told that Wiaho's tusks hinder his speech in a human language but we will not read a full physical description of a Ferran until Dominic Flandry works with one a long time later.

Satan
Van Rijn, reclining under a palm tree, sells franchises to:

"...the mightiest industrialists in the known galaxy." (p. 597)

- both human and non-human.

The Trader Team
Now rich for life, the team nevertheless returns to the frontier. The trader team sub-series continues but not indefinitely. Its remaining two installments will bring even greater changes. Maybe we are not supposed to know that yet but change is in the air (or the ether), nevertheless.

Kaor, Paul!

I remember that bit of SATAN'S WORLD, where Old Nick "unctuously" beamed at his rivals and rubbed it in just a little on how he had them by the short hairs! And declared with mock humility how he was just "...a dealer in sugar and spice and everything nice, not in dark Satanic mills." That scene always makes me smile!

Ad astra! Sean
