The Technic Civilization Saga, i.e., Poul Anderson's Technic History published in chronological order of fictitious events, could be broken down into eighteen more normal length volumes, thus -
Collection: eight stories from "The Saturn Game" to "The Season of Forgiveness."
Novel: The Man Who Counts.
Collection: Five stories from "Esau" to "Day of Burning."
Novel: Satan's World.
Collection: Three stories from "The Master Key" to "Lodestar."
Novel: Mirkheim.
Collection: Four stories from "The Star Plunderer" to "Rescue on Avalon."
Novel: The People Of The Wind.
Then the nine-volume Flandry series and its one-volume sequel.

Something like this might be most practical if it was part of a COMPLETE COLLECTED WOKS OF POUL ANDERSON. Or would you rearrange the number of Technic stories per volume for such a collection?

Sean,
I would keep the Technic History together in a COLLECTED WORKS.
Paul.
Kaor, Paul!
And I agree, series or stories sharing a common background should be kept together in a COMPLETE COLLECTED WORKS. And in internal chronological order.
